Plot: A high school jock makes a bet that he can turn an unattractive girl into the school's prom queen.
This movie was pretty good can't say it was the best nor the worst but it did have a good crew but a pretty stupid plot all it was about was sex and popularity. Not the greatest movie.
i really love this teen chick flick, about time people realise there is more than popularity to someone.
This movie my goodness, it really amaze me because it gave me a great impression about the dance that happened at the prom.
'Zach Siler: Sometimes when you open up to people, you let the bad in with the good.'
'Zach Siler: Give her the right look, the right boyfriend, and bam. In six weeks she's being named prom queen.'
'Zach Siler: So, can I have the last dance?
Laney Boggs: No, you can have the first.'
'Mackenzie Siler: Nothing personal, Laney, but this particular... coif, doesn't really go with your face shape.
Laney Boggs: What do you have in mind?
Mackenzie Siler: Well, I have an idea.
Laney Boggs: What kind of idea?
Mackenzie Siler: ...You'd really have to trust me.'
OK it was kind of the first. Everything tries to rip it off, so it must be OK... besides, Matthew Lillard is hot.
decent story with fatboy slim music..cheesey fun and predictable..but nice leads make it bearable..a mild movie
I didn't think this movie was as bad as some of the others on this list. It's your typical popular guy meets unpopular girl and makes a bet with his friends he can turn her into a prom queen plot. Rachael Leigh Cook was pretty cute the whole film through so the magical 'transformation' at the end wasn't that impressive. I do believe they simply took off her glasses and cut her hair. Still not worth ruining a perfectly good night with the significant other by renting this film. Girls if you must, watch it by yourself when it comes on cable.
This movie was cute. It was better than the cookie cutter, high school movies that you normally see. It was done well and had a high energy to the movie. It sure makes 'Not Another Teen Movie' make more sense. I enjoyed this movie and I would recommend it.
If I'm not mistaken, I feel that this was the movie that started the trend of cheesy "teeny bopper" wannabe/pubescent love story movies (or was it 16 Candles?). Still, it came out during the time before such movies got really lame. So, this still gets a thumbs up for me.
Good movie with a lot of good young actors. There is no way that Rachel Leigh Cook would be the dorky kid in school and not the hot girl.
Have I ever mentioned that I used to have the BIGGEST crush on FPJ??? OMG...not enough to watch Scooby-Doo, but I loved this one!
ih i will admit i saw this and im ashamed oh good god grow up already i feel i should have said to myself then
Not as bad as I'd expected, actually ends up being moderately watchable for the most part. Although playing keepie uppie with a hacky sack is NOT performance art, no matter what the film says.
Cheesy maybe but I always watch it when its on. I guess it has something because I've seen it too many times.
A little bit of fun but I can't watch it now without 'Not another teen movie' popping in my head. It's pretty surprising how many young famous people are actually in these kind of films.
This was randomly pulled from my stack of movies - something to shove in the VCR while I was busy doing something else. And that's pretty much what this movie is good for. It's one of those formulaic teen comedies that we've all seen before - at least in some similar incarnation. This was like My Fair Lady with teenagers. And there's really nothing more remarkable about it. It's nice shallow fare, but... meh. 10 Things I Hate About You is far superior (10 Things is far superior to most teen movies, actually - at least most non-1980s ones). What this does have going for it is a nice dance sequence (and I only say that because I like The Rockafeller Skank) which is very obviously choreographed, so there's another end-of-Footloose moment with the dancers magically knowing all the steps - except to better music. Added bonus for sci-fi/fantasy geeks - there's Tifa Lockheart in the real, and "Zack Siler" (which, as a Heroes fan, made me go "Whoa. Freaky."). But those are pretty lame sources of amusment. So if you're a big fan of teen movies, watch this, go nuts - but if not... it's just more of the same.

Not at all a good movie. I would not want to see this movie again. It's like Not another teen movie. Its stupid.
I like the scene about the hacky sack. It was probably one of the most memorable and avant-body poetic short scenes for me; and, in which, to me, is equivalent to the dancing plastic bag scene in American Beauty. It shows the inner potential creativity (Or perhaps it's because I'm way too much of an artsy lightbulbhead.) of the main character that is always hidden in them. On the other hand, he made a bet with his friends to turn a duck into a swan before prom day. I like the music scores they used such as Kiss Me by Jewel.
i thougt it was ok. i actually thought i really liked it, until i watched it a couple of days ago, nothing tat special, but still it was ok.
