I ended up staying up half the night watching this on TBS, and it was pretty good. I didn't even know what it was at first, but it looked interesting and so I kept watching. Some parts were kind of predictable, but others not so much. I think this is only the second movie I've seen with Josh Lucas in it, but I liked him a lot in this too.
when i first saw this i thought it was some kind of joke, the acting was so bad it didnt seem serious.
One of the characters (I use that term loosely) describes one of the major problems with this film. Explaining his concerns to his boss about our heavy metal loving robot stealth fighter EDI, he mentions something about war bcoming a video game. Ironic really as that is what this flick looks like.
The plot is pure dumbness and the effects and action sequences are inconsistent at best. Some of the work is pretty impressive, like the refuelling sequence but then there are other parts that look terrible.
Cast wise, I like Josh Lucas, he is really good at playing a complete douche (check out American Psycho) but here he is given nothing to work with. Foxx is beginnig to annoy me a little. Here he relies on that old too cool for school routine instead of trying to act and I just didn't buy it. As for Sam Shepherd, has he ever been in a film where he is not playing this character? The saving grace here is Biel for pure hotness and an obligatory bikini scene. Did that make the rest of the film watchable, probably not but it certainly helped.
This is pretty unimaginative work that remains watchable for it's cheese factor and Biel looking hot.
Another tale of Man Vs Machine..
Somewhat similar to I, Robot in the way the main character refuses to acknowledge the machine or give it a chance.
I found it boring,
A team of three stealth fighter pilots test out a new machine in a flight but it malfunctions and starts randomly attacking countries and this could lead to World War 3.Which of course,it doesn't.
Not even the sight of Jessica Biel in tight clothes and a bikini and a few cool explosions could save this from being a bit shit.
