MCT:October 24, 2008While not scary, it was not overly scary. I liked the acting, and the story line is somewhat unique, the plant horror thing is kind of out there alrady, (see ruins) I must hand it to Shyamalan, he is one creaetive man. I liked all of his movies thus far, and this is no exception.

A heart-pounding, gripping, riveting and utterly engagging edge of your seat thriller. A thrilling, bone-chilling, shocking, nail-biting, nerve-frying and relentlessly entertaining film. It's a masterpiece. An ingenious classic. Director, M. Night Shyamalan has done it again, taking a new direction to his vision with a different type of story. It's tremendously exciting, surprisingly moving and wickedly exhilerating. Mark Wahlberg has never been better, a brilliant performance that is a nice depature from his current tough guy roles and showing more of his more capable movie star energy. This is one really stunning and really thrilling movie. It's terifficly original, truly powerful and absolutely unforgettable. Absorbing, compelling, breathtaking and extroadinary. An unstoppable run for your life thriller that will have you gasping for air right till the very conclusion.

MCT:October 18, 2008On what seems to be a normal day, people in New York City suddenly begin killing themselves. Scared that the country is under attack from an unknown biological agent, people begin to flee for cover. A Science School teacher determined to save his family from whatever is attacking everyday people, leads the charge to safety. Time is running short and can the Science Teacher discover what is happening to everyone to save his family and humanity?
The Happening is a movie that really needs to be viewed cautiously. The movie is not that graphic nor is the movie that intense. The movie is either liked or hated because many people do not get the message or the style the movie was intended to be. M. Night Shymalan?s early success with the Sixth Sense is his undoing. Many people expect each movie to have an incredible twist and the movie to be groundbreaking. Honestly the movie needs to be viewed as a Science Fiction/Horror B-movie. The acting and some of the lines are incredibly cheesy, but the story and plot is intriguing. The story is so intriguing, it will make you stop and wonder if the horror you are viewing can really happen. The Happening receives three and half viruses out of five for having an intriguing plot, but loses points for having bad acting and equally bad lines to go along with the acting. -

Not at all what I expected but it was still a good thriller. Just wished the plot was a little better as far as why the events were happening.

well i was very excited to see this movie...but after watching it ...it is surely below expectations....although this movie is abt nature giving a warning......it could have been explained better...it was just abt ok not in the league of sixth sense and the signs...
