The Messengers takes all the best aspects from previous horrors and throws them all into the mix. What comes out is a cross between Resident Evil, Evil Dead, Silent Hill and The Amityville Horror.
Right from the word go i could tell Sam Raimi's influence by the style and the house setting which instantly clicked in my mind.
Kirsten Stewart as Jess who I've previously seen in Panic Room is on top form. The part with her and the little boy is so effective that it made me not look away.
Music, sounds and the whole setting are perfect. Scares are frequent and often, the use of quiet and then a sudden immense shocking boom gives me shuddery tingles. The crows and the creatures definitely reminded me of a computer game.
It may have been done before but this is a horror film that shines in its retelling of an age old formula. Horror fans will lap it up as it's got an intelligent thriller side to it as well as a blood soaked one.''There is evidence to suggest that children are highly susceptible to paranormal phenomena. They see what adults cannot. They believe what adults deny. And they are trying to warn us.'' -

This was pretty good.Also kinda predictible,but it was ok.Had a couple cool special effects,and OMG how cute was that baby boy in this movie!!! He alone is worth the watch! =)

MCT:November 30, 2008it was a good movie to watch...not scary though....had some people jumping off the seats in the cinema but they could have made it better.

Okay, if the ghosts were trying to warn the family of the danger they were in, why did they beat the crap out of the teenage girl? And why would they try to warn the little kid who can't even speak?
And what was the deal with the creepy lawyer who kept showing up with papers saying that someone else wanted to buy the house? Was that supposed to be significant of something? Seemed to me that was a subplot that must have been abandoned during filming. Junk.posted 382 days ago -
OMG you cant live without seeing this movie it rocks a lot of jumpy parts those ghosts faces were FREAKY!!!! especially when that girl came out of the wall!!!! THat was freaky!!!! Anyways see this!!!

This is a excelent movie me and my friend watched it and some parts made us jump out of our seats.......the end was very unexpected.....it was scary when she almost got pulled dwon the stairs,and when the boy pulled down his eye lids when his mom asked what he saw......FREAKY MAN!but it was good,more like excelent,well anyway it was one of my favorites and i think i might buy it......TTYL!

OMG i watched this movie and loved it!!..some parts scared the crap outta me (well not literally) but anyways it was soooo good. the little boy in the movie is ADORABLE.. he was just soo cute.. I RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE!!
