MCT:August 4, 2008An American serving in the French Foreign Legion discovers a hidden tomb of a condemned priest. To save his neck from being hung, he agrees to lead a klutzy sister and her brother to unearth the treasures hidden inside the tomb. Racing against a rival party, the klutzy girl accidental reads from the book of life and brings the mummy back to life. Now with the Mummy hot on their trail, the party flees as The Mummy begins stealing their life from each of the party that resurrected his tomb. Now as The Mummy known as Imhotep quickly regains his power, he is set to bring his lover back to life and conquer the world.
The Mummy staring Brendan Fraser was an instant hit that spawned two direct sequels and two spin offs so far. The Mummy gives you a little taste of Indiana Jones on a more campy level. The Mummy has the cheesy one liners and has solid action packed scenes. Fraser?s career took off after this movie and his co-star Rachel Weisez began getting notice to where she is on the brink of super stardom. The Mummy is a fantastic family movie. Their maybe some intense scenes but overall the movie is a great family action film. The Mummy receives four and half sarcophaguses out of five for being a solid action film and an intense popcorn adventure movie. -

This movie was alright. Expected a little more. Thrid looks like shit so i dont know yet. But this is alright. It had quite the adventure and thrill but at times not really.

Splendid! I always fascinated by ancient Egypt and all its outstanding mythology... the Mummy is a good old-fashioned creepy suspense film...the action and adventure is engaging...the jokes came out original instead of forced...like the part when Rachel Weizs shouted proudly, "I'm a librarian!" it's quite catchy and hard to missed...
The plot is OK, but the story is really full of creepy crawlers...once you accept this as an Indiana Jones type film, you can just shut your brain down and enjoy it...
i give 4 stars to this movie, because i really love the ancient Egypt atmosphere... -
MCT:December 1, 2008I have seen this movie a least a dozen times, and would still watch it again. It may be a remake of a very good movie, but it was it's own movie.

i love the mummy movies i have watched it sooo many times and in the mummy returns i cryed when Rachel Weisz died i cry every time but i still LOVE the movies and all the actors ROCK

This is a great movie! So great I had to watch it several times. Brendan & Rachel are great together. This is definately my favorite movie ever!
