The Passion of The Christ gives us the feeling of experiencing Jesus' thoughts...this is the one movie that draws Christ' emotion as a human being like no film before...for those who think that mel gibson tended to create a bloodbath and violence movie instead of a religious one...and mel gibson dealt the 'religious film' card or whatever...i should say that i'm not entirely agree...yes, violence is every director's classic decoy...but that's the awful truth happenned thousand years ago...and mel gibson strongly pictures it...i can say, one of the all-time great cinematic achievements......

First and foremost, be aware that this does have the tendency to (obviously) shock, anger, and repulse, either due to Mel Gibson (Personally, celebrities' lives have no importance in mine), proselytizing, or, what's been labeled, 'Jesus torture.' Yet, I couldn't love this film any more.

My personal perspective has nothing to do with this. I'm a deist and I endure a lot of preaching going around in my neighborhood, so, I suppose, I've adapted some sort of indifference. However, legitimately speaking, I hated how Gibson ended this. I know it's partially due to the whole Catholic message, but with Gibson's creativity, I expected something genuine.

Everything else, though, I adored. Gibson is a talented director because of his ability to apply a strong sense of escapism. The story's in its friggin' original language! What other Jesus film comes this close to accurately recounting this? Plus, there's brilliant performances, exquisite cinematography and a wonderful outlook.

Admittedly, I love swords and sandal epics, Biblical allusions, references, etc. My enjoyment might differ from the next person because of this, but either way, this shouldn't be missed. Gibson really built himself a reputation with this one. Successfully/Notoriously. Different perspectives for the Book of Matthew might be better, but none will come close to the reality that this one offers.

''You are my friends. And there is no greater love than for a man to lay down his life for his friends.''

The final hours and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

    James Caviezel: Jesus

Well well Mel Gibson, this was abit of a mess to put it politely. I know Mel Gibson believes in a more painful version of Christianity that involves suffering and boy does it come out in this.

We are treated to non stop suffering where everyone condemns Jesus, his own people shun him out and bay for his blood. Jesus's back-story and the flashbacks make the most sense, him being auditioned for a butcher shop does not. Some interesting visions of the Devil who looks like something that stepped out of the dark side of Star Wars.
Mary,Magdalen and John follow round being a good audience while Jesus falls over more times than candy in a sweet shop. The Roman's are depicted as the usual yobs, the normal soldiers anyway, while the Jews are up themselves retaliating on him for thinking outside the box.

Beautiful music, costumes, visuals top notch with everyone also speaking Aramaic that makes it totally realistic.

A few things that annoyed me like Jesus being nailed through the hands. We all know that isn't possible, proven that the hand would not be able to hang without ripping. The wrists are the parts that were nailed due to the Catholic Church making a boo boo in the medieval era.

A violent graphic depiction which is cringe triggering to watch. Maybe if you paid me i may watch it again.

At least he looks all clean and less red at the end and you got to love those light brown eyes and neatly kept beard. James Caviezel opened mouthed performance.

Misunderstood doesn't begin to cover Gibson's The Passion of the Christ. Religion is always a delicate and personal issue, but great filmmaking is great filmmaking, period. Technical and cinematically very close to perfection. A gripping, powerful and simply overwhelming film. Arguably the most forceful depiction of Jesus' death ever to be committed to film.

I saw this film in the theater and I did enjoy it. I like action and violent films but the beating of Jesus was very graphic and hard to watch. I liked it but I don't think I could watch this again.

1 Corthians 15:55- Where O death is your victory, where o death is your sting. When Paul preached that He meant that for us to. Death has no victory over us unless we let death. We are the ones at the end screaming Jesus! Let it be that in everything yo, let the praises ring!

Ths movie is simply what I would call a tradgedy won over. For without Him doing what He did we would not have heard victyory. But look at it in my way, was it really us who had the victory {really not} Godman did. He walked out stilll the same. As He is today. And He will be tomarrow. He never changes. But we a matter a fact do all the time.

"oh yeah, beat that jew, beat him down good" - Mel Gibson must have had his dream come true with people beating down on a jew for 2 hours.
