Only exists because of the dated original. By no means does it beat it (Especially with that horrible ending), but I can't help loving it.
crazzzzzy..
In the 80s they knew how to remake horror films. In this period of time, they failed miserably and didn't understand the films they were re-making. Don't try and make a period film if you know nothing about the film. The pretentious camerawork and awful acting and ridiculous gore--nevermind the inability to even scratch the impact or appeal of the original, well...
I don't do horror/suspense.
Terrible re-make of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It just didn't feel like the 1970's. The quiet farmhouse deep in the woods of the original was replaced by a huge gothic mansion out in the open. The characters in the remake were all changed for an equally gross family. R. Lee Ermey as the "Sherriff" head of the family was overacted and played too large of a role in the plot. Leatherface was reduced to background freak status. The remake had freaky women in the family now, which was a nice change. I did not like the sexual elements which were introduced to the story. This movie was yucky in the wrong way.
The chainsaw never seems to run out of gas. I wonder what brand it is, maybe i can use a reliable one like that one at home.
i now it is real cause my unle went and took me my sisters and causins
and it and i was freaked out but they must be dead cause we didnt see eny thing exsept for the house
I don't know how people can say that the original was scarier than this one. This one actually shows the action happening, it doesn't cut away at the best parts. This movie was brutal and scary as hell. This is the ONLY MOVIE THAT HAS EVER ACTUALLY SCARED ME! I have never been that scared in my life from a movie. This was the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre that I saw and ever since then I have been obsessed with the TCM movies. Check out my blog on www.myspace.com/irene420 under "me starring in texas chainsaw massacre" if you want to see a funny animation i made of my head on the chainsaw guy's body. lol
This was the first scary movie i really watched so like i was REALLY scared! iwas AMAZING! and its true!
Satisfying but inferior to the original which really had that tense and grimy feel.Too much of this had that MTV screenwriting 101 aura.
I prefer the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre because its alot more scary and the original one felt more real then the newer one, but i still liked this one.
its BASED ON TRUE EVENTS!!
Ed Gein inspired The Texas Chainsaw Massacre! Ed Gein is what u call Leatherface, he is the one who murdered all those people in wisconson and like in the movie TTCM he skinned people and wore the flesh wanting to be someone else!
So a little part of TTCM is true! and thts wot makes it so scary!
"Based on true events."
No. Very very very, stupid claim. Almost as stupid as claiming The Blair Witch Project was true.
The character of Leatherface is based mostly on Ed Gein who lived up in Wisconson. Wisconson is no where near Texas.
Oh the glories of overhyped movies.
I dont know how much of this story is true, i havent even seen the origional, but that didnt stop it from being fantasticly violent and disturbing.
Justins Best Bit: The sherrifs death, repeat running overs, haha.
