Pretty much just a regular episode of the x files. Nothing here advances the story at all...just fox and dana help solve some murders, and there is a psychic pederast. Probably the most pointless and useless movie ever made, except maybe sex and the city

X definately marks the spot. An awsome, sexy, brilliant, stunning, pulse-pounding and spine-tingling edge of your seat thriller that is a pure knockout. An excellent entertainment ride that you wont help but love. It's wickedly smart, intelligent, vastly enjoyable and spectacular. A bone-chilling, mind-blowing and exhilerating ride. It's been ten years since the first film and six years since the series ended and it hasent lost it's touch one bit. A teriffic movie that has loads of suspense, a great storline and blistering excitement to go around. Riveting, nail-biting, surprisingly effective and sensational with plenty of great twist, turns and great action. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are fantastic once again. The chemistry is still there after all theses years. Billy Connolly is brilliant. Amanda Peet and Xzibit are teriffic. A film that stands alone and you dont even have to be a fan of the television series to enjoy it. It's so much more than a television adaptation or a standard Hollywood sequel. It's one of those rare action-thrillers where the story and characters count most of all.
Being a big X-Files fan and with the past reference of the first movie, I thought that this would be as good as the first one or even better. But I have to say that I feel a little disappointed. The series characterized for its big amount of suspense, mystery, action, adventure and good sci-fi, this movie lacks from all of these things. The movie was too slow for my taste, causing the movie to become tiresome. The cast is okay, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson return as agents Mulder and Scully respectively. Their performances were good and they still have a good chemistry between them. I think the addition of Amanda Peet as FBI agent Dakota Whitney was good, Bill Connolly's acting as a priest who says he has psychic powers was convincing enough and I like the special appearance of Mitch Pileggi as Skinner. My conclusion is that the movie was good but could be better and I know that the X-Files fans all around the world will agree with me.
THE X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE is much better than the first film. The first film is more what one might expect from a film based on THE X-FILES television series: a story that has a forced alien-related plot. This film? Nothing to do with extra-terrestrials. Mulder and Scully are called back to help the FBI find out what has happened to a missing agent. The only paranormal plot point is a former priest who happens to be psychic. In all honesty, this feels more like a real X-FILES story, and it also feels more like a theatrical film than the first film. Very, very enjoyable.
the weak scully/dying boy plot line aside, it was fun. nice cameo from Skinner too.
Seriously pedestrian effort. Nobody seems the little bit interested in what they are doing. Bears little resemblance to the trailblazing series and basically forgets what it was all about. If this all that can be produced with six years to prepare then lets leave it at this. Father Joe is very much a cut-rate Clyde Bruckman.
Pretty weak, Im quite disappointed. This movie is more horror (gore) than it is mystery. I love horror movies, but really dont want to see that in the XFiles. There was no excitement in the movie whatsoever, not like in old times. For old times sake I give the movie 3 stars cuz I love Scully and Mulder and the story itself was not bad, just not in an XFiles movie. If you expect anything like the show you will be as disappointed as I am, I can not recommend the movie sadly enough.
NO!! Don't skip it... O_O It's The X-Files!! you have to see it...
It was so great guys!! I think that fans will appreciate it more than someone who is just watching it without having seen the show, but either way it was amazing!! I cannot wait to see it again!! ^_^
lol....i watch this x file series since i was 10years old!! what a nice movie....i cant wait to download it to pc^^
How come Flixster didn't change the title of this movie yet? The official title of the X-Files movie sequel has been released. It's called "The X-Files: I Want to Believe."
Woohoo! I love TXF! I can't wait to see Mulder and Scully again! :-D
