MCT:September 3, 2007Wow! This was fabulous. It took me awhile to watch it because I think I was partially dreading how long it was, and I read The Illiad and wasnt as taken with it as I was with The Odessey. Perhaps because EVERYBODY dies??
Where was Cassandra!? I am furious they omitted Cassandra. How can you have the retelling of The Illiad WITHOUT the negative, dooms dayer screaming "Death is here!"?
Oh well. It was great all the same, and I reallly like Sean Bean as Odysseus. I was hesitant with him in the role, but I REALLY thought he was good as my favorite character.
Diane Kruger as Helen, though...? Not so convinced there. I can think of half a dozen women who would fill the role of most beautiful woman in the world better. But, that said, she did a very good job. -
MCT:May 19, 2007Cool setting, good cast, plot was a bit all over the place but still a compelling film depending on how seriously you take it. Like the way it shows both sides of the trojans and greeks.

Je m'étais toujours demandé qu'elle était la véritable histoire d'Hector, d'Achille et de son talon, ainsi que de ce fameu cheval de Troie ! L'histoire me semble véritable, et c'est ce que j'avais entendu parler. Pour ce qui est du film, c'est un excellent film, avec beaucoup d'action, de sang et de soldat mort. C'est une histoire dont on se souviendra longtemps ! Rien de plus à dire , autre que c'est un excellent film. Achille pour moi, presqu'un modele maintenant. Je l'admire beaucoup, j'aime beaucoup ca façon d'être. « C'est l'épée de Troie, et Troie règnera, tant que cette épée restera dans les main d'un troyain ! »
« Je t'ai appris comment te battre, je ne t'es pas appris pourquoi te battre » . -

Only for the cast,the dialogues and the battle scenes..........the respresentation of the facts that homer wrote.......was dreadfull!!

It was a good movie and was full of action and very iteresting scenes.
But it was not as good as " The LORD Of The RINGS " or " TITAIC " but it was still up there.
its characters was very good, specially Brad Pitt and Eric Bana, Orlando Was A stupid in this movie , but he's a good actor specially in (LOTR).
And really I was confused w/ whome should I be ( Achelis or Paris and Hector )

I Loved this movie! Despite what those dimwits said about Paris (Orlanda Bloom) being the cause of the war...Paris and Helen should have been allowed to be with whom they wanted!

surprisingly, I did not like this movie at all. I was very disappointed in it. I could not even get through the whole movie, I ended up turning it off!

I saw this movie on CBC... But really, it's all Paris's fault. Stupid Orlando Bloom. Other than that... I liked it.

This is a movie not the entire mythology so that means that some things have to happen that aren't actually true, besides how the hell were they going to show how Menalous was stranded when the movie ends just after Troy is destroyed?
and it was about Troy, not the character's personal journies.
Though I do agree that this wasn't Brad Pitts best performance.posted 393 days ago -
