Plot: A "cure" for mutancy threatens to alter the course of history. For the first time, mutants have a choice: retain their uniqueness, although it isolates and alienates them, or give up their powers and ...( read more read more... )become human. The opposing viewpoints of mutant leaders Charles Xavier, who preaches tolerance, and Magneto, who believes in the survival of the fittest, are put to the ultimate test -- triggering the war to end all wars.

Some other actors in the film - Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde), Daniel Cudmore (Piotr "Peter" Rasputin / Colossus), Eric Dane (Jamie Madrox / Multiple Man), Michael Murphy (Warren Worthington II), Dania Ramirez (Callisto), Omahyra Mota (Arclight), Ken Leung (Kid Omega), Mei Melançon (Psylocke),Shohreh Aghdashloo (Dr. Kavita Rao)

Alan Cumming was reportedly uncomfortable with the long hours he had to take with the Nightcrawler makeup, but still planned to return for X-Men: The Last Stand. The part for Nightcrawler was so minimal, however, that the studio felt it was not worthwhile to go through the long and costly makeup process, and the character was cut. Nightcrawler's absence was explained in the tie-in game.

''I don't have to be psychic to see that something's bothering you.''

When a cure is found to treat mutations, lines are drawn amongst the X-Men, led by Professor Charles Xavier, and the Brotherhood, a band of powerful mutants organized under Xavier's former ally, Magneto.

    Hugh Jackman: Logan / Wolverine

Thought it could have been alot better. Didn't like the idea for a cure for mutancy, beast (Kelsey Grammer) was cool, the angel guy (Ben Foster) didnt really do much and there wasn't alot of focus on the characters personalities. Plus Juggermaught played by Vinnie Jones had some of the worst lines in the movie which spoilt things further.

Fairly good film though. Brett Ratner hasn't got the skill of Bryan Singer, although Brett does some terrific set pieces such as the flying bridge.

Apparently right at the end of the film after the credits is a secret ending or something to do with xavier going into another body? someone in a coma?

This third one is the only one I've seen. I liked the idea of the battle between the two camps of mutants. Ben Foster as a new character was a let down because the filmmakers introduced him and then dropped the ball by ignoring his character. Kelsey Grammer as Beast was impressive to see! What can I say, I love the Beast.

I really hate how the story ended... I really love the previous X-Men... How could they all ended up dead?? and what about Cyclops? He was told dead because James Marsden was in the Superman Returns shoot?? Gimme a break, Singer...
And how is it the 5 mutans triumphed over hundreds of human soldiers - not including those evil mutants...? How did they conquer it all?? It's just nonsense, Bry...and I was really annoyed by Kitty Pride...why don't you set her dead instead??
The one thing I like about The Last Stand is Archangel. =)

wow, definitely thew best film i've seen in 2006.
before seeing it i was a little doubtful but after a watch it i loved it.
i think its the best one of the x-men trilogy, it was full of action, great special effects and the story is if not a 100% very faithful to the comic book.

and for those who havent seen it, wait until the end of the credits to receive a very good surprise

It lacks in story and the depth of the other movies, but its still very entertainiing. The great battles and fan boy moments make it a mediocre movie about action.

Really enjoyed this, and surprised that I did. It felt very squashed, but it worked in its favour. Its a comic book movie and I dont want to be bored and watching a long movie prattling on. Instead this felt snappy and to the point.

I didn't like this movie as much as the first 2. It totally sucked that they killed half the darn cast and Rouge ended up with no powers and they didn't even make a 4th one even though Magneto could still move things at the end and at the end of the credits Profesor X is still alive. So i have mixed emotions on this. Other then thet this movie was awesome. But I don't like all the death.
