Sir Ian McKellen is taking lessons in Thai kickboxing.
The veteran actor, 69, is having personal training sessions at his East London gym, which cost £50 per hour.
"His trainer really puts him through his paces and Sir Ian recently started doing Thai boxing-style moves which are really good for toning and general fitness," a source told The Mirror.
McKellen's next big screen role is in the Anne Harries adaptation The Colossus.
