MediaByNumbers [via ComingSoon] reports that "The Dark Knight" climbed to 7th place on the all-time domestic blockbuster list on Tuesday, surpassing the first "Spider-Man" to become the biggest comic book movie of all-time in North America.

The new Batman movie added $5.67 million on Tuesday to bring its massive total to $405.7 million after just 19 days. "Spider-Man" reached $403.7 million domestically during its entire run in 2002.

The movie will next target "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest," which sits at #6 with $423.3 million. Then "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" ($431.1 million), "E.T." ($434.9 million), "SHREK 2" ($436.5 million), "Star Wars" ($461 million). And finally, the number one movie is "Titanic" with $600.8 million.

i hope it overtakes titanic, i didnt like it that much.
i saw the dark knight the other night. it was one of the best movies i have ever seen. people seem to be giving heath leger all the credit. they all did a great job, not only heath.
i dont think it would have made that much money if heath hadnt of died but i do think it still would have made a LOT of money.

dude why get inflation involved? then you got to consider older movies like gone w the wind and snow white. adjusting for inflation they would kill titanic

it probably won't pass Titanic, and if we're adjusting for inflation, it won't even get CLOSE to Titanic, which when you adjust that movie's total is actually 900 million.
    still, though, go Dark Knight.
    cheers

BATMAN WILL STEAL THE DEAD MAN'S CHEST, DESTROY THE PHANTOM MENACE, SEND E.T. BACK TO HIS HOME PLANET, GIVE SHREK AN UNHAPPY ENDING, AND MIGHT POSSIBLY BLOW UP THE DEATH STAR AND SINK THE TITANIC BEFORE THE END OF HIS BOX OFFICE RUN. GO BATMAN AND LONG LIVE HEATH LEDGER!!!
