These early pre-Heath Ledger Joker conceptual designs can be found in The Art of The Dark Knight. I was shocked to discover that the Joker design they eventually settled on, actually seems a lot tamer than some of the early concepts. I recommend picking up the book, as it also features the entire shooting script.

    the joker that they have settled in now is the best looking joker ever. Plus, Heath was the right guy to pull it off to such a level.

    i think that the "earlier jocker" was good, but the real jocker, its amazing, i really love the characeter, and i can see the movie i don't how many times, just to see the jocker. Heath Ledger deserve the Oscar... i love the jocker.

    Just saw the movie today, one of the best movies ever! Heath Ledger was amazing, far better than expected (and that was good), definatly deserves an Oscar. This role is so much harder to do than just the normal boring roles the awards are nominated and given too (e.g. Michael Clayton etc). He was amazing!
