Producer Patrick Aiello explains to fans the reasoning behind their decision to not include Ryu or Ken in the upcoming Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li film:

PATRICK: “Justin [Marks], Ashok [Amritraj] and Capcom got together and decided to make it more of an origin story for Chun Li (played by Smallville's Kristin Kreuk). There are just way too many characters in the Street Fighter universe to cram them all into one film. We want to do each one the justice he/she deserves. So, in short, Ken and Ryu will not be appearing in this film. But, that doesn’t mean we wont see our red and white-clad heroes in potential sequels…”

    Guess can wait till hopefully in the next potential Street Fighter film to see Ryu and Ken (even though they were both in the 90's film version).

    It would not be the same with out them and it would not call Street Fighter with out Ken & Ryu
